Our belief is that for these particular EYFS and Key Stage One children with complex and multiple special educational needs, that this will be best achieved in a specialist resource base within our mainstream schools.

The aim of Moonstone Room is to provide a specialist EYFS and Key Stage One Inclusion Base which will make sense to children, young people and their families that addresses their needs earlier and to be a place where all pupils achieve their full potential in a learning environment where they feel safe, happy, accepted and included. These are pupils that will struggle to access a mainstream classroom as their needs may make it difficult for them to cope with the sensory overload of a mainstream classroom, require a highly differentiated and personalised curriculum and higher ratios of staff to pupils.

We are committed to our role in promoting inclusion, and strongly believe in the power of early intervention with the cooperation and partnership of all those, who share our commitment and endeavours to improving the life chances of children and young people affected by special educational needs.

Listen to what our staff say…

“The inclusion team at Heart Education Trust are always there to support teachers and support staff. This welcoming and thoroughly experienced team is always ready with resources, advice and guidance in supporting teachers and support staff with adapting their lessons to meet the needs of all of their learners.  “The Trust has a fantastic in house CPD programme which all members of staff are actively involved in.  Working for the Heart Trust means working as one big family.  Even though I work in a one form entry school, I always know there are other teachers from my year group to call on for support and advice.  The Trust is very supportive if ever you have any worries or issues.  Staff mental health and wellbeing is an important issue to leaders.” Teacher, Lingwood Primary Academy
