Teaching Assistants

Location:          The HEART Education Trust, Norwich

(Heartsease Primary Academy, Rider Haggard Road, Norwich NR7 9UE; Henderson Green Primary Academy, Earlham Grove, Norwich NR5 8DX; Lingwood Primary Academy, Station Road, Lingwood NR13 4AZ; Valley Primary Academy, Gentry Place, Norwich NR5 8XZ)

Salary:              Scale C-D £9.50 – £10.03 per hour (pay award pending)

depending on experience and qualifications; (£18,525.00 – £19,563.37 full time equivalent)

Job Type:         27.5 hours per week, permanent post, term time + 1 week (39 weeks)

                        Plus MSA role of 2.5 hours per week

Start Date:       1 September 2022

We are looking for passionate and proactive individuals who are committed to helping our pupils succeed and who want to join our team of superstar Teaching Assistants across our Academies!

You will have:

  • Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or be willing to undertake this qualification
  • experience of working or volunteering with children in a school setting (Early Years, Key Stage 1 or 2)
  • good English and maths skills
  • the ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and being able to respond accordingly
  • good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible
  • the ability to work under the direction of the class teacher but also to work independently and use initiative appropriately
  • personal care skills, including openness to supporting dressing and toileting needs
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality in all school matters
  • the ability to encourage and enable others to develop their full potential
  • open-mindedness and patience
  • a friendly, helpful, caring and flexible approach

Pool Maintenance Operative

Salary:           Scale B (£9.50 per hour)

Job Type:         2.5-7.5 hours per week

(3 x half hour sessions daily: mornings, lunchtimes and evenings (in between swim sessions)), fixed term (with a view to extend), all year round

Location: Heartsease Primary Academy, Rider Haggard Road, Norwich NR7 9UE; swimming pool

Start Date:   As soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint a Pool Maintenance Operative to join our friendly Facilities team. Duties will include cleaning the changing rooms/poolside and testing water levels (PH, chlorine etc) at the Swimming Pool building, Heartsease Primary Academy, Rider Haggard Road, Norwich NR7 9UE, to the standard laid down by the Trust.  You will have a friendly, helpful, caring and flexible approach.  You will receive training as required, although previous cleaning experience, particularly within a school environment is desirable.

Nursery Assistant

Salary:                 Scale C £9.27 per hour (£18,075.62 – £18,805.88 FTE)

Job Type:             This is a part-time, temporary post; term time (38 weeks), 22.5 hours per week, mornings only 8.30am-1.00pm

Start Date:          20 April 2022

This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate willing to work within the Early Years sector. Bishy Barney Bees Nursery at Heartsease Primary Academy is on a journey to Outstanding and is looking to appoint the very best practitioner wanting a challenging and varied role and to be part of an exciting period in the nursery development.

You will have:

Trust Family Support Worker

We are looking to appoint a Trust Family Support Worker, to be responsible for overseeing and managing the Family Support Process across the Trust. You will work directly with the academy safeguarding teams and be expected to contribute to the safeguarding process of children across the Trust, working in partnership with families, parents, carers, pupils and other Professionals.                                                                                                                    

  • This is a part-time role
  • The post is 20hrs per week, term-time, on a permanent basis
  • Salary Scale E, point 9 – 11: £9,214.92 to £9,773.14 per annum, pro rata (£20,916.87 to £22,190.71 FTE) – dependant on qualifications, skills and experience.

We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual who is committed to helping our pupils succeed.

You will:

  • Champion the rights of the child
  • Co-ordinate Family Support Process Assessment and delivery, up to Tier 3 Level
  • Promote high levels of engagement from families in the FSP process
  • Promote high levels of engagement from external agencies to support each family
  • Work collaboratively with parents, schools and external agencies to ensure children have the opportunity to thrive
  • Work with the children to ensure that their voice is heard in every process
  • Identify, in partnership with parents, their needs for parenting accessing support groups or training opportunities for those wishing to enhance their relationships with their children and deal positively with challenges arising from their complex needs
  • Support parents and their children through transitions to ensure continual engagement with school and learning
  • Ensure opportunities for all parents to develop their understanding and knowledge of their children’s learning and development
  • Encourage good relations and effective dialogue between parents and teachers about children’s progress
  • Enable increased opportunities for parental involvement in school life
  • Help to identify and support access to alternative learning opportunities where appropriate
  • Support schools in developing effective practice for working in partnership with parents
