Attendance & Admissions Officer

Location: The HEART Education Trust, Heartsease Primary Academy, Rider Haggard Road, Norwich NR7 9UE; this is a Trust based role and will require the post holder to move across the Trust sites

Salary:                  Scale E £10.86-£11.52 per hour (£21,167.88 – £22,457.00 full time equivalent)

Job Type:             Permanent; part-time 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

                             Term time (38 weeks) plus one week

Start Date:          1 September 2022

We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual who is committed to helping our pupils succeed. You will work with the Academy Headteachers and other school staff, parents, pupils and outside agencies to ensure the positive attendance of pupils across the Trust, under the instruction of the Head of Pastoral and Behaviour. You will be able to maintain attendance data on the school system in an accurate and timely basis, discuss with parents/carers reasons for their child’s absence and work to improve attendance.  You will also support the admissions process and actively engage with new parents in a positive way. You will be able to communicate effectively with parents/carers both face to face and using telephone, emails or letters.

You will also:

  • have a minimum GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • have experience of working within a school environment
  • have a basic knowledge of school attendance systems and processes, with experience of using Bromcom or other similar MIS software
  • have the ability to work in an organised and methodical manner
  • have the ability to convey information clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing, to colleagues, parents, pupils etc
  • maintain efficient record keeping systems
  • be flexible and able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team
  • be enthusiastic and have a sense of humour
  • have good ICT skills

Cover Supervisor

We are looking for an effective and reliable individual to appoint as a Cover Supervisor at our Henderson Green Primary Academy, working across the school in both Key Stage 1, 2 and EYFS.

As a Cover Supervisor you will supervise whole classes to cover short term absence of teachers and provide PPA cover (to allow teachers to carry out professional duties and training).  The Cover Supervisor will give instructions for the lesson, as provided by the teacher, and keep pupils on task while maintaining good order.  As a Cover Supervisor you work under the direction of the class teacher to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils, including those with special educational needs.

A degree level qualification, or equivalent, would also be an advantage; however, candidates with relevant experience should not be discouraged from applying.

You will have:-

Academy Support Assistant

Heartsease Primary Academy is seeking an Academy Support Assistant to work in its school office, to start 1 September 2022.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team committed to improving the life-chances of children through education.  In this role, you will support the school’s teaching and educational support staff to make sure that our pupils get the high-quality education they deserve.  This is your chance to contribute to improving education in Norwich.

Heartsease Primary Academy is part of The HEART Education Trust.  You will work with the Academy’s current Academy Support Manager, but also be part of a collaborative working environment that expands across four primary schools. 

Ideal Candidate

  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Grade 4-5/C Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Previous administrative / secretarial experience, or experience in a school office
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these. 
  • Identify your own training and development needs, and work to address these

About the Role

  • You will provide a high standard of secretarial, Information Technology and administrative services to the Academy its teachers and pupils and, by working flexibly with other administrative staff across the Trust, ensure that duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • You will work 08:30 to 15:30 Monday – Friday with a half an hour lunch break
  • You will be given support by the Trust head office, Academy SLT and current Academy Support Manager
  • You will be given a high level of CPD and support for career development.

Minibus Driver

We are looking to appoint a Minibus Driver to join our friendly staff team.  Duties will include driving the school minibus to transport pupils and staff safely and responsibly between our Trust academies in Lingwood and Norwich.  The role is 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday (term time), working both the morning and afternoon school runs.  You will have a friendly, helpful, caring and flexible approach.  Applicants must hold a full, clean driving licence and be over the age of 22.

Assistant Caretaker

We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Assistant Caretaker to join our Facilities team.  Based at Valley Primary Academy (Gentry Place, Norwich, NR5 8XZ), you will support the Headteacher by keeping the school and grounds clean and tidy and in good working order.  You will work with the Senior Maintenance Technician to carry out light maintenance and keep the school compliant with health and safety legislation.  You will also support the out-of-hours cleaning teams by assisting with cleaning touchpoint and toilet areas during the school day.  You will be a team player. 

You will have:

  • Previous cleaning or caretaking experience 
  • Ability to carry out / complete manual tasks.
  • Ability to follow policies and procedure.

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic and hardworking Apprentice Teaching Assistants to work across three of our schools; Heartsease Primary Academy, Henderson Green Primary Academy and Valley Primary Academy. 

You will join our successful team and work with children across Early Year, KS1 and KS2 whilst gaining a qualification. You must be prepared to undertake a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship, including attending workshops at an alternative venue and be passionate about developing your career further in this area.

Nursery Assistant

Post Vacancy:    Nursery Assistant – Bishy Barney Bees Nursery, Heartsease Primary Academy, Rider Haggard Road, Norwich NR7 9UE

Salary:                 Scale C £9.27 per hour (£18,075.62 – £18,805.88 FTE)

Job Type:             This is a part-time, temporary post; term time (38 weeks), 22.5 hours per week, mornings only 8.30am-1.00pm

Start Date:          20 April 2022

This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate willing to work within the Early Years sector. Bishy Barney Bees Nursery at Heartsease Primary Academy is on a journey to Outstanding and is looking to appoint the very best practitioner wanting a challenging and varied role and to be part of an exciting period in the nursery development.

You will have:

  • Level 2 qualification in Early Years Childcare
  • experience of working or volunteering with children in a school or Early Years setting (2-5 year olds)
  • good English and maths skills
  • the ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and being able to respond accordingly
  • good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible
  • the ability to work under the direction of the class teacher but also to work independently and use initiative appropriately
  • personal care skills including openness to supporting dressing and toileting needs
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality in all school matters
  • the ability to encourage and enable others to develop their full potential
  • open-mindedness and patience
  • a friendly, helpful, caring and flexible approach
