Trainee Teaching Assistant:
The role of a Trainee Teaching Assistant would include the following duties:                            
1)To work under the instruction/direction of senior manager/teaching staff to support the delivery of quality learning and teaching of pupils.
2)To work with primary age children in the classroom
3)To undertake specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher;
4)To encourage the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school, and enable pupils to become more independent learners.
5)To undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the classroom                  
6) To develop a knowledge of learning and supporting pupils in a primary education setting


Early Years Teaching Assistant:
The job placement is in our Nursery or Reception class and is that of a trainee Early Years Teaching Assistant. Duties will include:            
1)To contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in our Nursery or Reception (2-5 years old)
2)To contribute to a record of achievement file on key children, for parents/carers;
3)To support all staff and engage in a good staff team;
4)To uphold standards within the Setting by adhering to all policies and procedures;
5)To Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members;
6)To be flexible within working practices of Setting. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment etc;
7)To Work alongside the Early Years Teacher and staff team to ensure high quality provision for all children
8)To respect the confidentiality of information received;                                                                
9)To learn and develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker.        
10) to learn about early childhood development and the Early Learning Framework

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
Good literacy and numeracy skills. Preferably at least a grade ‘c’ or equivalent in GCSE English and Maths, confident in the use of IT, and interested in working with children.

25 hours per week
Term time, 5 hours daily, 9am-3pm with one hour unpaid lunch break
National Minimum wage

Details of employability support:
School based work mentor, on the job training in the role. Access to a range of training relevant to both a school and other workplaces including Safeguarding, Health and Safety and a full induction process. Trust based mentoring in applying for further study, employment including support for writing CVs, applications and interview skills.
Graduate Primary Teaching Intern:
To gain valuable school experience as an introduction to teaching and to provide the experience required for PGCE and SCITT teaching schemes. The placement will give the intern the opportunity to provide support for pupils in their learning; to support an appropriately broad; balanced,
relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils by supporting groups/individuals within lessons.
Delivering intervention programmes to group/individuals, assessing, recording and feedback on progress and attainment of pupils.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
At least a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant field, GCSE maths and English at a minimum of a ‘C’ grade or the equivalent

25 hours per week
Term time, 5 hours daily, 9am-3pm with one hour unpaid lunch break
National Minimum wage

Details of employability support:
School based work mentor, on the job training in the role. Experience required for applying for PGCE, SCITT and Teach First will all be provided. Opportunities to observe teaching and to undertake some team teaching with your mentor. Access to a range of training relevant to both a school and other workplaces including Safeguarding, Health and Safety and a full induction process. Trust based mentoring in applying for further study, employment including support for writing CVs, applications and interview skills.
