Trust Family Support Worker

We are looking to appoint a Trust Family Support Worker, to be responsible for overseeing and managing the Family Support Process across the Trust. You will work directly with the academy safeguarding teams and be expected to contribute to the safeguarding process of children across the Trust, working in partnership with families, parents, carers, pupils and other Professionals.                                                                                                                    

  • This is a part-time role
  • The post is 20hrs per week, term-time, on a permanent basis
  • Salary Scale E, point 9 – 11: £9,214.92 to £9,773.14 per annum, pro rata (£20,916.87 to £22,190.71 FTE) – dependant on qualifications, skills and experience.

We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual who is committed to helping our pupils succeed.

You will:

  • Champion the rights of the child
  • Co-ordinate Family Support Process Assessment and delivery, up to Tier 3 Level
  • Promote high levels of engagement from families in the FSP process
  • Promote high levels of engagement from external agencies to support each family
  • Work collaboratively with parents, schools and external agencies to ensure children have the opportunity to thrive
  • Work with the children to ensure that their voice is heard in every process
  • Identify, in partnership with parents, their needs for parenting accessing support groups or training opportunities for those wishing to enhance their relationships with their children and deal positively with challenges arising from their complex needs
  • Support parents and their children through transitions to ensure continual engagement with school and learning
  • Ensure opportunities for all parents to develop their understanding and knowledge of their children’s learning and development
  • Encourage good relations and effective dialogue between parents and teachers about children’s progress
  • Enable increased opportunities for parental involvement in school life
  • Help to identify and support access to alternative learning opportunities where appropriate
  • Support schools in developing effective practice for working in partnership with parents

Pastoral Assistant

We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Assistant, to deal with attendance, behavioural, pastoral and welfare issues. This supports the development of a whole school approach to overcome obstacles to learning and improve pupil participation in learning and whole school life.                                                                                                                     

  • This is a part-time role based at Heartsease Primary Academy.
  • The post is 32.5hrs per week, term-time + 1 week, on a permanent basis
  • Salary Scale E – point 9 – 11, £15,368.31 to £16,299.29 per annum, pro rata (£20,916.87 to £22,190.71 FTE) – dependant on qualifications, skills and experience.

We are looking for a passionate and proactive individual who is committed to helping our pupils succeed.

You will:

  • Promote positive behaviour throughout the school and support children to take responsibility for their behaviour and choices.
  • Be responsible for First Aid and medical provision.
  • Assist in the recording & monitoring of pupil behaviours and development needs
  • Undertake first day calling for absent students
  • Maintain pupil records
  • Provide information to the Headteacher/teachers as appropriate, to enable them to carry out their role
  • Be responsible for health and safety of self and others and adhere to the school health and safety policy and procedures
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, as requested by the Headteacher
  • Undertake First Aid duties, ideally holding both 2 day Paediatric and 3 day at Work training certification, or be willing to undertake both.
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or be prepared to undertake the training.

Effective Date January 2021

Job Purpose: To drive HET minibus in a responsible and competent
manner, ensuring the safety of the passengers, other road users,
members of the public and yourself at all times.

Principal Accountabilities
1. Driving school vehicle
2. Responsible for the safety, comfort and welfare of the children.
3. Carry out driver’s daily and weekly vehicle checks, and to carry out basic maintenance.
4. Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents and accidents
5. Be responsible for the cleanliness of vehicles, inside and out and
6. ensuring the vehicle is in a clean and roadworthy condition before and after use.
7. Refuel vehicles as required.
8. Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage.
9. Maintain and help to promote a good school image, working attire should be worn at all
times and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
10. Work within health and safety guidelines and other guidelines that may be issued from
time-to-time
11. To undertake any other associated duties as required by the Headteacher.
12. Plan alternative road routes to and from school when necessary
13. Supporting with the boarding and alighting of passengers with disabilities.
14. Take the lead during emergency situations to ensure all passengers are safe.

Must have a clean driving licence.

Academy Support Assistant Required

Salary Range: £9.25 – £9.44 per hour (£13,534.14 – £13,812.14 pro rata; £18,039.54 – £18,400.33 FTE)

Heartsease Primary Academy is seeking an Academy Support Assistant in its school office, to start ASAP.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team committed to improving the life-chances of children through education.  In this role, you will support the school’s teaching and educational support staff to make sure that our pupils get the high-quality education they deserve.  This is your chance to contribute to improving education in Norwich.

Heartsease Primary Academy is part of The HEART Education Trust.  You will work with the Academy’s current Academy Support Manager, but also be part of a collaborative working environment that expands across four primary schools. 

Ideal Candidate

  • A good level of literacy and numeracy
  • Grade C Maths / English GCSE (or equivalent)
  • Previous administrative / secretarial experience, or experience in a school office
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these. 
  • Identify your own training and development needs, and work to address these

About the Role

  • You will provide a high standard of secretarial, Information Technology and administrative services to the Academy its teachers and pupils and, by working flexibly with other administrative staff across the Trust, ensure that duties are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • You will work 08:30 and 15:30 Monday – Friday with a half an hour lunch break
  • You will be given support by the Trust head office, Academy SLT and current Academy Support Manager
  • You will be given a high level of CPD and support for career development.

The Trust’s central finance team supports all four academies and the head office in all matters financial to ensure that the Trust can achieve the aims set out above.  The finance team is managed by the Trust’s Chief Operating Officer.

We are looking for a conscientious and self-motivated Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Finance team to start ASAP. The ideal candidate would be someone with previous experience working in finance, but the most important qualities are someone who is conscientious, self-motivated and wants to be part of a friendly, high achieving team.

The role with be based at the Trust’s Head Office at Heartsease Primary Academy, with free on-site parking.

Working as part of the Trust’s central finance team, you will support the Trust’s Finance Manager to carry out the day-to-day financial administration of the Trust.

We are looking for a candidate with experience working with sales and purchases ledgers, who is confident and experienced in using financial software packages. 

Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • Minimum of grade C in English and Maths GCSEs
  • Experience working with sales and purchase ledgers/accounts payable
  • Previous experience of using accounting software such as PS Financials or Sage
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Positive attitude and work ethic
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Attention to detail

About the Role

Carrying out this role, you will:

  • Provide all such support and assistance to the Trust’s Finance Manager to ensure that the central finance system (PS Financials) is maintained daily and used to record all financial and accounting data
  • Raise orders for goods, supplies and services for the head office via the PS Financials webportal
  • Complete goods received processes for goods, supplies and services for the head office via the PS Financials webportal
  • Process all invoices received by the Trust and its academies, ensuring that a corresponding purchase order exists
  • Maintain all data records relating to income and expenditure
  • Support Academies within the Trust with general financial matters
  • Carry out such financial administrative tasks as directed by the Trust’s Finance Manager including filing, scanning, etc.
  • Deal with supplier and internal queries via telephone and email
  • Making payments via BACS and cheques
  • Processing monthly credit card statements
  • Adhoc duties as required
