About The HEART Education Trust
The HEART Education Trust is a Norwich based trust, consisting of 4 Primary schools with approximately 1,000 pupils. The HEART Education Trust is committed to improving the life-chances of children and young people through excellence in education, encouraging pupils to challenge themselves and hold high aspirations in their academic learning, personal and social development. We encourage pupils within our family of Trust Academies to challenge both the self and externally imposed restrictions, to hold high aspirations for their futures and to develop a thirst for learning. We understand that the way to achieve this is through ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and broad opportunities for learning via a rich and relevant curriculum. Our Trust Academies aim to ensure that our pupils are well prepared to make the most of future opportunities as citizens within an ever-changing world.
We are looking for an experienced teacher, passionate about special educational needs and inclusion to develop their career further in this area. The role of Assistant SENCO will be working as part of the HEART Education Trust Inclusion Team, supporting the Trust SENCo across the schools in the Trust. The HEART Education Trust has a reputation for outstanding inclusion and SEND provision and we are looking for someone who shares our passion to join our team to enable us to continue to develop our provision.
If you are a highly motivated professional committed to providing high quality inclusive education for all pupils and enabling all pupils to achieve their potential this will be a rewarding role with opportunities for further career development and progression, including the opportunity to undertake the National Award for SENCOs and other specialist SEND training.
This is a non-teaching role that means all your time and energy can be committed to ensuring that the pupils with Special Educational Needs are at the centre of everything that you do.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Trust and to make a significant contribution to the educational outcomes for SEND students. We are looking forward to appointing an inspiring individual who will continue the outstanding support for the students and contribute to the development of the Inclusion Team.
Here is what our staff have to say about the Inclusion Team and working within it:-

The Inclusion team are known within the Trust for their well-resourced and highly professional training sessions.” (Deputy Head in Trust school)
“I have been working as a SENCO for the Heart Education Trust for three years and it is the best move I ever made. SEND is a passion of mine and the Heart Education Trust has given me opportunities to develop my skills, knowledge and confidence in this area. As a full time SENCO I have been able to dedicate my time to improving the opportunities for children with SEND across the four schools. I have the trust and support from a dedicated inclusion team who value me as both an individual as well as member of the team. The job of SENCO is not without its fair share of challenges, however meeting them has been made easier by the supportive and dedicated staff who work within the Trust. We are truly like one big happy family. From the CEO to the wider staff there is shared vision and values that drive us to do the best for our children. I love working as a SENCO for the Heart Education Trust and intend to stay for a very long time.” (SENCO, The HEART Education Trust)
“I would encourage anyone who has a genuine passion for children and SEND and who wants to work in a varied, fast paced and forward-thinking environment to apply for this role. The inclusion team have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are truly committed to supporting learners with SEND which helps to drive the excellent SEN provision within the trust. As someone completely new to the area it has been lovely to be part of a team where no question is too small and they are always available to lend a friendly helping hand. I have completed several recognised training courses during my time with them including Mental Health and Speech, Language and Communication which have been invaluable to my professional development and helped us as a team to continue to be ahead of the curve and innovative in our approach. My circumstances might have changed but my belief in the team has not and I wish anyone who steps into the role the very best; you will be in excellent hands.” (Assistant SENCO, Trust)
